Lola R. Urban, age 96, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away August 12, 2020 at Ridgeview Heights Assisted Living in Osceola.
Lola (Hardle) Urban, age 96, passed away on August 12, 2020 at Ridgeview Heights Assisted Living in Osceola. She was born on June 25, 1924 to Earl and Naomi (Wright) Hardle. Lola attended rural schools near Columbus, Nebraska and graduated from Silver Creek High School. Following graduation, she attended Wayne State College and taught in rural schools.
On March 15, 1945, she was united in marriage to Francis Urban and 5 days later, he left for basic training in the Navy, being stationed at Great Lakes, Illinois.
Lola was a permanent member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 91. She served various offices in the Legion Auxiliary on the Local, County, District, State and National level. She was a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Church where she taught CCD classes and was a CCD Coordinator. Lola also was a 4-H leader and past part-time librarian for 15 years at the Osceola Library. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling, playing cards, and attending activities of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and doing needlepoint, crewel and embroidery.
Lola is survived by her children, Randy Urban of Osceola, Kent (Peggy Johnson) Urban of Shelby, Connie (Ron) Boruch of Osceola, Janet (Larry) Neujahr of Osceola, Richard Urban of Silver Creek and Gregg (Cindy) Urban of Fairbury; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; parents Earl & Naomi Hardle; sons, Jerome and Raymond; three infant babies; granddaughter, Nicki Glatter and brother, Milton Hardle.
