Lola Mae “Dolly” Dawson was born to the late Pearlia Mae Watkins on December 4, 1942 in Decatur, Alabama. She departed this life on October 15, 2012 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur Emergency Room.
She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the Reverend Boy Stone at Union Grove P.B. Church in Decatur, AL.
She worked in private homes for many years and later became a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Dawson, son, Maurice Stevenson, daughter, Marvelene Williams, two sisters, Connie Amerson and Janice McDaniel.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted granddaughter, Whykiea Williams; four great-grandchildren, La’Rion Jones, Damion Jones, Darrell Clemons and Honesty Sykes; four sisters, Gladys Scales, Lou White (Paul), Janet Martin (James) and Catherine Scott (John); three brothers, Jerry Stevenson, Edward Alexander and Albert Amerson, all of Decatur, AL; a host of nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends.
