Lois Wood, 89, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022.

Lois was born in 1932 and grew up in Bristol, PA. She was the oldest of three children born to Arthur and Vera Bolton. A talented pianist as a child, Lois played the organ in her Lutheran Church from the age of 12 until she left home at 24 to become an airline stewardess with TWA. In 1959, she met passenger Bill Brooks, who would become her husband. They settled in NJ, where her two children were born. The family moved from NJ to Albuquerque in 1968 to bask in the wide-open spaces and beautiful weather.

Upon her divorce in 1971, Lois re-entered the world of work. She was hired as a secretary at Albuquerque National Bank in the Trust Department. This would change her life in two meaningful ways. She would grow in her position, ultimately becoming one of the first (if not the first) female trust officers in New Mexico. She would also meet fellow bank employee, Ken Wood, whose good looks, great humor, and loving kindness would steal her heart. Lois and Ken married in 1978 and enjoyed 34 years of love and life until his death in 2012.

Lois is survived by her children, William D. Brooks III and wife, Susan of Astoria, OR, and Cynthia Mohler and husband, Tim of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren Janelle Marquez, Ben Mohler, and William D. Brooks IV; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard Bolton and Robert Bolton.
