Lois Newton Johns, 94, of South Williamsport died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.
Born June 13, 1916 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Helen Long Newton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred D. Johns, who was a barber in South Williamsport until his death in 1971.
Lois was a member of the American Kennel Club, the Williamsport Hospital Auxiliary, and ABWA. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith J. (Charles) Fortin of South Williamsport, two sisters, Bernice (John) Chesney of South Williamsport, and Ruth (George) DeSau of Montoursville, 4 grandchildren, Michael D. (Angel) of DuBoistown, Todd E. (LouAnn) of South Williamsport, Matthew J. (Wanda) of Hughesville, Erick C. (Stephanie) of South Williamsport, 10 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren and a sister in law Marvene Alpine of Hughsville.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by brothers William, Ralph, Robert and an infant brother Jack.
