Lois M. Ball, 90, formerly of DuBoisown, died Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Williamsport Home.

Born September 23, 1923, in Washingtonville, she was a daughter of the late Howard D. and Daisy I. (Arthur) Confer.

Lois was the valedictorian of her 1941 graduating class of Turbotville High School.  During World War II she worked at Sylvania. After her employment at Sylvania she was a homemaker.

She was a longtime member of the DuBoistown United Methodist Church, where she was active in youth fellowship, choir, Women’s Society,  Bible study, prayer circle, Sunday School, and serving behind the scenes in whatever way she could.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and being with family.

Surviving are her children Richard W. (Elizabeth) of Petersburg, Kenneth W. of DuBoistown, Steven R. of Cleveland, TX, three brothers, A. Lynn (Evelyn) Confer of GA, George (Shirley) Confer of Williamsport, Richard (Louann) Confer of Cogan Station, four sisters, June Green of Hughesville, Carol Confer of Houston, TX, Joyce (William) Campbell of Cogan Station, Nancy (Theodore) Bloom of Loyalsock, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Lois is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, A. William Ball, Jr., a brother, Donald Confer, and a sister, Faye Bassett.
