Mrs. Johnson peacefully passed away at local hospital in San Diego, CA.

Lois C. Mc Gown was born in Chicago, IL on July 25, 1944. She was a wee five pound beautiful baby girl born to Louis and Arlene Mc Gown.

With her caring and giving spirit, Lois went into the nursing field. She absolutely loved giving assistance and aiding others. However, becoming a nurse was not enough for her and she wanted to excel even further by helping others, so she went back to school.

Lois went to Olive Harvey College in Chicago, IL., where she received her AA** Degree in Liberal Arts. Not only did she graduate while working full time as a nurse and taking care of a family of four and a husband, she did so with double honors and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, which is an International Honor Society. With her new found degree, she went on to become a Counselor and Social Worker for the City of Chicago.

Lois moved to San Diego, CA in August of 1981. This is when she began her first Bible study with her sister, Marlene Alderson. Lois dedicated her life to Jehovah on June 19, 1993 and on September 1, 1999 began regular pioneering, which she loved.

Lois later met and fell in love with Russell Johnson, whom she married on October 10, 1998. Together they served Jehovah side-by-side for more than thirteen years until his death on March 18, 2012. Even though her husband, whom she fondly called her “Boo” had passed, Lois continued serving Jehovah and pioneering until her death on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

As her life ended she was surrounded by lots of family and friends. She was indeed loved. Lois was one of the bravest, proudest and strongest woman her children and siblings have ever known. She will be truly missed.

Lois was also preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Arlene McGown, and three brothers, Robert Hunt, Al Hunter and Lenell Mc Gown.

Lois C. Johnson is survived by her four children, Kirk Ball, Karol Raymond (Dorian), Kevin Ball (Tamara) and Kimberly Willis; three sisters, Marlene Alderson, Karen Lasster and Elnora Wilson; one remaining brother, Wayne Mc Gown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
