Lois Jeanne Boertlein, 73, of Eureka, IL passed away peacefully at 10:48 pm on Monday, March 30, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 23, 1946 in Bonne Terre, MO to Alden D. and Lois E. (Seal) Sebastian. She married Robert Boertlein on June 24, 1967 in Washington IL. He survives.
Also surviving are her 5 children Julianne (Kevin) Rednour of Eureka, Joel (Selina) Boertlein of Jacksonville NC, Jannelle Swiger of Eureka, Johanna (Jesse) Purvis of Morton, and Jarrod Boertlein of the Czech Republic; 8 grandchildren Makenzie, Jonathan, and Corrigan Boertlein, Dakota Conway, Anakin and Kaelyn Swiger, Giselle and Julian Purvis; 2 brothers Alden D. (Peggy) Sebastian II, Ironton, MO and Herb (Carol) Sebastian, Eureka; her beloved “Aunt Pat” Patricia Leach, Harrisonville, MO, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her family moved from Missouri to Washington, IL where she grew up and later to Eureka, IL where she raised her own family. She attended Eureka College, Midstate College (where she met her husband Bob)and ICC.
