Lois Jean (Johnson) Provance, 88, of Ottawa, went on to her next adventure Friday evening, March 11, 2016 at Rivershores Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Lois was born on September 30, 1927, in Ottawa to Hans T. and Charlotte (Wollenhaupt) Johnson. She was one of eight children. Lois was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School, class of 1942. On August 15, 1948 she married Verlyn Scoop Provance and they lived in Grand Ridge until he passed away. She was retired from Libbey-Owens Ford. Lois was a member of the Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, and AARP.

She looked forward to meeting, every Tuesday, with her sewing group.She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Patsy) Provance, Dana Provance and a daughter, Denise Sorn, all of Ottawa. She has seven grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Ellen Waterworth, of North Carolina and Shelia Klein, of Naplate. She has many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Gary Lee Provance, her grandson, Pierce Provance, four brothers, Pep, Donald, Raymond, and Hans Jr., and a sister, Catherine Butz.Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Ryan Mason, Dalton Provance, Andrew Sibigtroth, Jordan Sarti, Skyler Provance, and Colson Larabee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Turner-Sibigtroth, BrayDen Larabee, Grayson Mathesius, Jonah Mason, and Jaxyn Provance.
