She passed away at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, Fla.
Born Dec. 8, 1939, in Marion, she was the daughter of Ivan and Bertha Comer Seward. She was first married to Dale Resler, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hipskind had been a business administrator at the Logansport State Hospital from 1992 until 2004. Before that she was the office manager at Bailey’s from 1976 until 1982.
Lois Jean loved making comforters and quilts for family. She enjoyed playing cards (especially bridge, 5 crowns and canasta) with friends and family. She was an avid reader and computer user. She enjoyed her grandkids, nieces and nephews in all their activities.
Surviving are children, Doug (Belinda) Resler, Sewickley, Pa., Lisa (Andy) Loughmiller, Franklin, Phil (Laura) Hipskind, New Palestine, Tom Hipskind, Anchorage, AK, and Chris (Debbie) Hipskind, White Salmon, Wash.; sister, Judy (David) Witherow, Sharpsville; grandchildren, Emily, Ciara and Savannah Resler, Alex and Mitch Loughmiller, Andrew and Daniel Hipskind, and Cody, Sadie and Cassidy Hipskind; and a number of nieces and nephews.
