Upland: Lois J. Stimax, 87, died at Marion General Hospital with family by her side.

She was born in Marion the daughter of the late Paul and Goldie (Swope) Harter. She was a 1945 graduate of Marion High School. She married Herb Stimax and together they made their home on the family farm in Monroe Township for many years. He preceded her in death April 19, 2011. Lois had been employed with Thompson Consumer Electronics in the payroll department prior to her retirement in 1989. She was a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church where she enjoyed serving as secretary of the United Methodist Women for several years. She also enjoyed crocheting, listening to books on CD, and sponsoring many different causes especially for veterans and animals. She loved her cat dog, Charlie and Roscoe.

Survivors include a son, Paul Shoemaker, England; grandchildren, Jenni Shoemaker, Gas City, Angela Iqbal, Indpls., Paul Michael Shoemaker, England, Abigail Shoemaker, England; great grandchildren: Robert Boles, Gas City, Jason Boles, Hartford City; special niece, Neta June (Stallsmith) O’Brien; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Ruth Hall, Indpls., and Jean DeCamp, Upland.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Shoemaker; sisters, Nancy Bonham, and Linda Beck; special niece, Rose Marie (Stallsmith) Pennington.
