Lois M. Freeman was born Lois Madeline Burroughs on January 25, 1929,to Pastor Lindsey W. Burroughs and Carrie Oliver Burroughs in Thornton, Arkansas. Her parents preceded her in death. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by her father at the Mt.
Lois graduated from high school. She attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for one year.
She was united in marriage to George Freeman on January 23, 1953. Together they enjoyed over thirty-nine years of marital contentment and happiness and raised their son until Mr. Freeman’s death on March 7, 1992.
Lois moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1953 with her family. She and resided and made her home here until her death. She retired from the U. S.
