Lois Edith Bennett, age 86, of Green Forest, AR passed from this life on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Lois was born on March 24, 1926 in Plainview, Texas the daughter of Walker Squyers and Lois (Waddill) Squyers. On January 13, 1949 she was united in marriage with Robert Lockard Bennett who preceded her in death in 1980. After moving to Carroll County a number of years ago Lois worked at the Mattox House and Hotel in Green Forest and also Tysons in Green Forest. From her grandchildren to “special needs” kids Lois was passionate about taking care of children. She owned and operated a nursery for several years and it soon became a refuge for many children. She had a gregarious personality and was a caring, kind, generous and passionate soul. Lois loved listening to country music. She was of the Methodist faith. Lois is survived by her son, Frankie Bennett of Green Forest, one daughter, Claudia Arbuckle of Green Forest, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bennett, 2 sons, Roger Dale Bennett and Robert Lewis Bennett, 2 sisters, Wilena Nanny and Martha Lou Beale, 2 brothers, J.W. Jr. Squyers and Buddy Squyers.
