Lois Dian Adkins, 69, of Jacksonville, IL died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She was born November 17, 1947, in Jacksonville, the daughter of James and Lois Hall Cruse. She married Gerald Adkins and they later divorced.
She is survived by her mother, Lois Cruse of Rapid City, SD; three children, Sarah Agamei of Jacksonville, Jeffrey Adkins of Springfield, and James Adkins of Springfield; five grandchildren, Claire Anderson, Douglas Anderson, Lindsey Anderson, and James Fletcher, all of Jacksonville and Emily Adkins of Springfield; two great-grandchildren, Evann and Jeffrey Warcup of Jacksonville; four sisters, Sharon Mahon of Springfield, Shirley Irlam (husband, John) of Jacksonville, Kathy Tiger of Aurora, CO, and Janet Kenney (husband, Charles) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Lois was a 1965 graduate of Jacksonville High School and attended Illinois College. She later earned her LPN certification from Lincoln Land Community College. She was employed at the Wells Center in Jacksonville, retiring in 2014. She was a former member of the Jacksonville Moose Lodge.
