Lois Betty Meyer 91, of Blue Island, IL died Thursday July 23, 2015, in her residence.
Lois was born April 4, 1924 in Blue Island, the daughter of the late George B. and Clara (Bettenhausen) Coombes. Lois was a graduate of Blue Island Community High School. She was a secretary for School District 130 for many years, working at Whittier School and later at Everett F. Kerr Junior High, retiring in 1986. She was a Member of Grace United Methodist Church in Blue Island. She married Vernon W. Meyer in Blue Island on October 10, 1953 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1997.
Lois is survived by her sons, V. William Meyer and his wife, Cherie, of Jacksonville and Daniel Meyer and his wife, Mary, of Blue Island; granddaughters, Amy Beth Meyer and companion, David Cotton, and Krystina Ann Meyer-Petitt and husband, Harry, all of Decatur; great grandchildren, Donell Gause, Kybreius Coleman and Lexi Meyer, all of Decatur.
