Lloyd W. Wilson, 78, of Bristol, widower of Louise (Kennedy) Wilson, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2008 at Bristol Hospital, surrounded by his children. Lloyd was born July 18, 1929, in Stockholm, Maine, a son of the late Tom and Ethel (Anderson) Wilson. He graduated from Patten Maine Academy, and was a member of the 1947 New England Championship Basketball Team playing at the Boston Garden.
Mr. Wilson was employed by Pratt & Whitney of East Hartford, Forestville Shell Station, and Yankee Gas until his retirement in 1991.
He was a good and generous person to all who knew him. His loving memory will be treasured by his family and friends.
Lloyd is survived by his three children and their spouses, Bonnie and Rick Fitzsimons of Bristol, Cindy and Rick Goodine of Haddam, and Tom and Kari Wilson of Centerville, MA, a sister, Kay Steen and her husband Archie of Apex, NC, proud grandfather of Mike Fitzsimons and his wife Darcie, Sandie Gregor and her husband Dory, Richard Goodine Jr., Wendy Goodine, Wes Porrini, Randy Goodine and Susan Chasse all of Bristol, and Mick and Holly Wilson of MA, 7 great grandchildren, Connor, Jordan, and Mackenzie Fitzsimons, Peyton and Gavin Gregor, and Wesley and Mya Porrini, and his beloved companion Leone “Sis” Grim, and many nieces and nephews.
