Lloyd Rufus Johnson, Sr., 82, of Ponemah, Minnesota and of the Eagle Clan began his journey to the spirit world on Sunday, January 10th, 2021 from Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji, MN.  He was born in Red Lake, MN on September 13th, 1938, the son of Ethel (Bugg) and Rufus Johnson.

Lloyd will be remembered for his big loud laugh!  Lloyd and Darlene were married at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas in 1988.  He was quite the jokester; every time you saw him, he would have a joke and had no problem making you laugh.  Besides making you laugh with his jokes; he could also do it with his card tricks.  Lloyd was Elvis Presley’s biggest fan and was an Elvis impersonator, with many of the same outfits, performing at many different casinos.  He loved basketball, playing in high school and moving on to the independent league that traveled around to different cities.  His love of basketball had him attending and keeping the stats for his grandchildren’s and nephew’s games.  Lloyd attended vocational school for carpentry and went on to build many homes in his life.  He also worked as a commercial fisherman, a police officer and a conservation officer for the Red Lake Band.  All who knew and loved him will miss his laugh.

Family that Lloyd joins in the spirit world are his daughter, Sheila Johnson; son, Kevin Johnson; parents, Ethel and Rufus Johnson; brothers, Levi, Dellis, Virgil and Patrick Johnson; sisters, Margaret Crowe and Jeanette Johnson and grandsons, Chris Schoenborn IV and Kyle Schoenborn.

He leaves behind his wife, Darlene Johnson, sons, Lloyd Jr., Challenge and Westin Johnson; daughters, Millie and Chassidy Johnson and Dell and Katie Perkins; brother, Rudy Johnson, 28 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, other relatives and numerous friends.
