Lloyd Newton Gallup, 92, of Boerne, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

Lloyd was born June 28, 1929 in Medina, Ohio to Asa and Mary Gallup. He married Elaine Pearson on September 1, 1950 in Lockhart, Texas. Together they raised their children while traveling to Japan and across the United States. Lloyd is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably in the Air Force, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Lloyd’s experience in the Air Force played a very important role in his life – it taught him the value of discipline and hard work. Lloyd was proud of having served his country. 

After military retirement he worked many years for the VA hospital in Kerrville Texas he also worked many years for Glen Johnson Air Conditioning in San Antonio. Lloyd enjoyed working on engines of all kinds and fishing, but his great passion was reading. He was a member of First Baptist Church Boerne where he was active in several Ministries. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Boerne Public Library and Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries.

Lloyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He is survived by his son, Lloyd Gordon Gallup, Sr. of Boerne; his daughters, Karen Harris (Doctor Steven Harris) of Flint, Texas, Paula Clark (Richard) of Tyler, Texas and Marian Potter (Commander Randal Potter) of Hawaii; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and his brother, William Gallup of California.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Elaine; his parents, Asa and Mary Gallup; and his sister, Mary Lou Morris.
