Lloyd Goodell, age 88 of Humboldt, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Lloyd Dean Goodell, the son of Clarence and Etta (Crumbaker) Goodell, was born on September 29, 1931 on the family farm in Humboldt, Iowa. He attended country school and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1949. Lloyd worked on the family farm until he was drafted for the United States Army serving in the Korean War. On March 6, 1955 Lloyd was united in marriage with Alice G. Watts at the Methodist Church in Rutland. Lloyd’s life was devoted to his family and farming his grandfather’s century farm. He was a happy man when his cattle lots were full. Lloyd had a sense of adventure that led him and his family on many trips together. He loved to cheer on the Yankee’s and attend every event that he could for his grandchildren. Left to cherish Lloyd’s memory are his wife of 64 years, Alice of Humboldt; children, Kevin (Dorothy) Goodell of Gilmore City, Dennis (Shelly) Goodell of Gilmore City, Scott (Tracy) Goodell of Humboldt, Debbie (Lennie) Dean of Fort Worth, TX, Neil (Jean) Goodell of Lake Crystal, MN, Lisa (Duane) Kramer of Walcott and Melinda (Emile) Li of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Katie Goodell, Jody (Tim) Lundquist, Jeff (Michelle) Goodell, Taylor (Sam) Goodell, Caitlin (Brian) Kirchhoff, Allix Kirchhoff, April Goodell, Alicia Goodell, Amber Goodell, Brooke (Brian) Kirchhoff, Ryan Dean, Rachel Dean, Josh (Katie) Goodell, Katie (Kelvin) Goodell, Adason (Ashley) Kramer, Greg (Lindsay) Kramer, Nick (Kari) Kramer, Emilyann (Mark) Rodenborn, Lizzy (Sam) Li, Emily McGuire, John- Michael (Virginia) Li, Mary Claire Li, Ethan Li, Joseph Li and his granddog, Blade; 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kerry Goodell; brothers, Archie and James Goodell; sister, Carol Parsons and grandson, Jeremy Goodell.
