Lloyd Allen Gordon, age 75, of Franklin, IN, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on December 4, 2021.
Lloyd was born in New Albany, Mississippi to Eli Harris and Dorothy M. (Webb) Gordon on July 24, 1946.
After graduating from Hurricane High School, Hurricane MS in 1965, he was drafted into the US Army in November 1965. He served in Company A 1st Battalion 8th Infantry 4th Infantry Division in Viet Nam from 1966-1967. He survived an enemy ambush on March 22, 1967, and was later wounded on May 22, 1967, earning him a Purple Heart.
Lloyd retired in May 2018 from Neovia Logistics in Greenwood IN.
His greatest joys were his family, friends, church, and Lord. He was a faithful and involved member of Camby Tabernacle where he often led the congregation in song and in worship. He was a talented musician, singing and playing guitar, bass and banjo.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Iona Vinson, Edith Allie White, Josephine Gordon, Dorothy Jo Gordon and brothers Chester Gordon and Herbert Gordon
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen (Lux), daughter Toni (Joel) Parris, son Matt (Tamera) Gordon, grandchildren Morgan (Stephen) Sanders, Isaac Parris, Hope (Austin) Janes, Ava Gordon and great-granddaughters Ashleigh and Everleigh Sanders.
