Lisa “Smurf” Murphy 45, of Dubois, formerly of Centralia, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 at SLU Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Lisa was born February 6, 1974 in Centralia, the daughter of Thomas Murphy Sr. and Kathy (Moore) Murphy. She married Michele McNish on November 24, 2000 in St. Charles, MO and she survives her in Dubois.
In addition to her wife of 19 years, she is survived by three children: Stacy Wheeler and husband Andrew of Centralia, Amanda Davis of Salem, and Andrew Davis of Centralia; three grandchildren: Alistair Sullivan, Amber Wheeler, and Topanga Wheeler; father: Thomas Murphy Sr.; one brother: Tom Murphy Jr. and wife Stephanie of Centralia; niece: Taylor Murphy of Centralia; nephew: Gavin Murphy of Centralia; step-mother: Hanna Murphy; step-sister: Nicole; father and mother-in-law: Gary Smith and wife Mary of Centralia; brother-in-law: Steve Smith of Centralia; also many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother: Kathy Murphy; and an uncle Mark Sinclair. Lisa was an avid Cardinals fan.
She was someone who had a contagious laugh that everyone she was around enjoyed. She loved her pet Chihuahua Chloe. Most of all, Lisa enjoyed her time she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
