Our beloved Lionel answered the Lord’s call to rest in Heaven on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at the age of 47. Our Lord took Lionel to be by his side to relieve him of health struggles he faced and because he needed a strong guardian as Lionel to assist him in looking after us all. This world said “see you soon” to a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, godfather, cousin, and friend.
Lionel was born to Joe and Isaura Sanchez on January 1, 1964, in Pearsall, TX. Lionel lived for some time in Pearsall, but spent most of his life in Oxnard, CA. Lionel was a wonderful man and loved nothing more than his family. His hildren were the world to him and all he ever wanted was to see his two little ones again. Lionel had a personality that drew many to him because of his unique personality. We miss Lionel terribly and when he departed he took a piece of our heats with him, but we are finding peace in the fact that he is no longer in pain and that we will reunite with him someday.
Lionel is survived by his wife, Cynthia; mother, Isaura; children: Fabian, April, Ramon, and Isaura; grandchildren: Fabian, Moses, Cynthia, and Nevaeh; his siblings: Stella Estrada, JoAnn Bernal, Patricia Sanchez and Joshua Sanchez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lionel is now with his father, Joe; and brothers, Rudy and Joe Jr., awaiting the day we will join them in the paradise after this life. We love you with all our hearts, Lionel. Rest in peace always.
Viewing is planned for Thurs., Sept. 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m.
