Lionel Jean-Baptiste was born on September 12, 1957, to Lamatinière Colon and Lucilia Jean-Baptiste in Marigot, Jacmel Haiti. He departed this life on January 17th, 2022, at the age of 64. 

Lionel was working as a mechanic in his early 20s in Haiti. In 1982, he migrated into the United States and settled in New Jersey with his siblings.

At the age of 30, on a trip back to Haiti he met the love of his life, Josette Mondesir and married her in 1993.

Lionel was passionate about cooking. He worked as a cook in Central Jersey for over a decade. He spent his free time watching WWE, listening to Haitian music and singing along. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to him.

Lionel was a compassionate, funny and respectful man. His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met. Lionel was someone who extended his love to all, and he would express it by cooking delicious meals. He cared deeply for others and led a wholesome life. 

Lionel is reunited in Heaven with previously departed loved ones: Lamatinière Colon and Lucillia Jean-Baptiste, his parents. 

Lionel Jean-Baptiste is survived by his wife of 30 years, Josette M. Jean-Baptiste, his only child Loudmia L. Jean-Baptiste and a host of brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
