Linville Halcomb, age 89, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 14, 2019. He was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on March 30, 1930 to Emmitt and Hettie (Hampton) Halcomb.
Linville was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Halcomb’s Foreign Car Service, where he mainly worked on Volkswagen vehicles. Linville enjoyed fishing, watching his grandchildren play sports, going to state parks, the NBA, especially the Indiana Pacers, and University of Kentucky basketball.
Linville is survived by his wife of 66 years, Imogene (Sexton) Halcomb, son, Elmer Halcomb (Kim), grandchildren, Travis, Scott, and Rose, great-grandson, Emmett, daughter, Tammy Amador (Javier), grandchildren, Nick (Angie) and Josh (Ashly), great-grandchildren, Avery, Haley, Azalya, and Cordelia, daughter, Lisa Snooks (Andrew), grandchildren, Alex, Shelby, Makenzie, and Kristin, daughter, Kim Davis (Kevin), Clayton (fiancé Katelyn) and Case, and several nieces and nephews.
Linville was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alex and Soloman H. Halcomb, sisters, Mary Day, Lovell Halcomb, Ollie Collier, Mae Day, and Ethel Banks.
