Mr. Lindsey B. Hatton was born March 15, 1931 in Decatur, Alabama. Lindsey confessed his faith in Christ at an early age with the Springhill M.B. Church.

He joined the United States Air Force and performed various duties for 26 plus years.  During his stay of service he became the Fire Chief and later promoted to the Fire Inspector with Top Secret Military Clearance.  He exercised his duties as he toured nearly half the world; in the country of Greenland, Morocco, Spain, New Mexico, California and other areas as well.  He served with a fierceness. He served as a Jailer (the lock up guy) for 17 years with the Decatur Police Department. Lindsey was very serious about his work.

He was a devoted husband and a caring father. His two main hobbies were “Master Detailer” of HIS Buicks and a “Master Gardener” with a big green thumb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Juanita Hatton; his wife, Nora B. Hatton of 50 years; brother, Allen Hatton Jr; and sister, Bernice Hatton Hubbard.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Melvin (Brenda) of Decatur; sisters, Lucy Pearl “Pearline” Smith of Cleveland, OH, Mary Tate of Chicago, IL; brothers, Roosevelt (Georgia) Hatton of Detroit, MI and Floyd Hatton (“Billy”) of Calumet, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
