Linda S. Bruens, 54, of Mishawaka, formerly of Cassopolis, died suddenly, Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. She was born May 13, 1956 in South Bend, Indiana. Linda loved Notre Dame, the lake cabin and her dogs.
She was a seamstress for eleven years. She is survived by spouse, Debe Wirta of Mishawka; daughter, Kacie (fiancé Jimmy Leach) Bruens of Cassopolis; two grandsons, Landon and Lane Leach; father Raymond “Zip” (fiance, Esther Morey) Bruens of Granger; three sisters, Karen (James) Smith of Cassopolis, Janice Michaels of Marcellus, and Laura (Randy Ellis) Keesler; nine brothers, Dick (Theresa) Bruens of Vandalia, Mike (Nancy) Knapp of Jones, Wilson “Butch” Wheetley of Cassopolis, Dale (Sandy) Bruens of Dowagiac, Don (Debbie) Bruens of Cassopolis, Bob Eggleston of Jones, Jim (Tammy) Klein of Niles, Bill (Rose) Knapp of Elkhart, Indiana, and Chris Knapp of Jones; and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Richard Knapp, and mother, Doris Bruens, and nephew Jason Keesler.
