Linda (Simpson) Melton, 58 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Linda was born November 15, 1956 in Centralia, daughter of Glen Simpson and Maxine (Fletcher) Simpson. She married Steven Melton on September 2, 2001 and he survives in Centralia.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is also survived by three daughters: Tricia Kelley of Mt. Vernon, Kassondra Kelley of Vandalia, and Mandy Schaeffer of Dix; three grandchildren: Alexia Vandiver, Emily Lamar, and Tyler Schaeffer; two step-sons: Brian Melton and wife Mary of Central City and Joshua Melton of Johnson City; a step-daughter, Jeannette Thomas and husband Ronnie of Sandoval; four step-grandchildren: Cristian Melton, Gage Thomas, Dawson Melton, and Skylar Melton; two brothers: Daniel Simpson and wife Lisa of Destin, FL and Michael Simpson and wife Ruth Ann of Murfreesboro, TN; four nephews and two nieces.She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Gene and Esther Simpson and Charles and Lillias Fletcher.
Linda was an Accountant for over 20 years. She enjoyed cake decorating, gardening, and camping. She also enjoyed playing games on Facebook. She was a member of the Marshall Creek Baptist Church in Odin. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.
