Linda McCartney Jones, 74, of Anderson, passed away on August 15, 2015 at Community Hospital, Anderson. She was born on April 27, 1941 in Anderson, where she resided most of her life. Linda graduated from Madison Heights High School and from Ball State University. She retired as a probation officer in Fort Bend County Texas. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, and she enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her friends and family.
Linda is survived by her loving daughters, Donna Stephens of Anderson, Karen (Mark) Burkhardt of Anderson, Gay Jones of Anderson, friend of 23 years, Jerry Hand of Anderson, 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, special friends, Sherry and Phil Rahe.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brett “Jughead” Jones, mother, Dallie (Cobb) McCartney, father, Wilbur McCartney, sister, Donna Scherer, and her brother, Larry McCartney. Per Linda’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Cremation & Burial of Ashes will take place in Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton at a later date.
