Great Falls- Linda Lou (SpottedBear) KickingWoman was born January 14, 1953 to George SpottedBear and Cecile Doore, she was later adopted by Merlin Doore St. Linda was called hom August 3, 2012.
Linda Graduated from high school in Helena, MT in 1971. After graduating, Linda moved back to Browning and married Maynard KickingWoman December 18, 1971. Linda and Maynard traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada with their children to pow-wows. She was very proud of her children who eventually took over their father’s singing group, The KickingWoman Singers. Through their travels, Linda and Maynard adopted many individuals as their children such as, Iris HeavyRunner, Carlos Calica, Jordene Bear, Piana Strawster, Stan Pretty Pain, The late Anthony Howlett, Alfred Woodcock, and many others.
Linda is survived by her husband of 40 years, her daughters, Sue Agnes (Charlie) Morgan of Browning, MT. Rae Lynn (Errol) Jansen of Auburn, WA, Sons Ronald (Vannah) KickingWoman Sr. of Browning, MT and Merlin (Tanisha) KickingWoman Sr. of Tulalip, WA. 9 grand-children, Ryan, Ryley, Mariah, Ronald Jr., Hannah, Harley, Merlin Jr., Ladinian, and Maleia. Sisters Marlene Doney, Diane (George) Calftail, Waverly (Tom) Shawl, Marcedes (Carl) OldPerson, Brothers Merlin Doore Jr., Gayle Rides At The Door, and Sons, Cecile (Janelle) Doore and Samual Doore, all of browning, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was also raised with Lavern Prairie Chicken, Ethel (Cookie) Castillo, Carol Garrow, Mary Ellen Roundine, and Laurie Roundine all of Browning, MT. Uncles Marvin Spotted Bear and Fred Spotted Bear.
Linda is preceded in death by: Mother Cecile Doore, Her Father Merlin Doore, Maternal grandparents, Sam Agnes Newbreast, Paternal grandparents, Frank, Annie Doore. Brothers Martin David Doore, Kenneth Doore, Uncles Pete, Sammy, Charlie Newbreast, Aunts OLoretta Roundine and Melinda Henawlt.
