Linda Kay McLaughlin of Hebron, NE the daughter of Robert Lee and Violet Lucille (Peters) Glasscock was born April 15, 1948 in Fairbury, NE. She went home to Jesus on Friday, September 3, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Lincoln, NE at the age of 62 years.

Linda was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron. Over the years she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Confirmation classes. She was her daughters’ Girl Scout Leader and was active in her children’s school activities. She praised God and gave Thanks in all areas of her life, be it her family, work or play. She embraced the farm life and worked joyfully along side Lyle. Later on she managed the Wayfarer Motel and cooked at both the Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home and Assisted Living facility. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking and creating memorabilia for others to mark special occasions in their lives. Above all, she valued people and enjoyed writing letters and poems to show her appreciation for those who had touched her life in a special way.

She attended school in Hebron and graduated from Hebron High with the class of 1966. Linda married Lyle Don McLaughlin, her “Love At First Sight”, August 15, 1965. This union was blessed with three children.

She is preceded in death by her baby sister Joni Lucille Erickson.

Linda is survived by her father Robert Glasscock of Fairbury, NE and mother Lucille Peperkorn and step-dad Bill of York, NE, husband Lyle McLaughlin of Hebron, NE, daughter Shelly Ullman and husband John, her only son Kelly McLaughlin, youngest daughter Joni McLaughlin, and one grandson Dylan Lawrence “Luke” Ullman all of Lincoln, NE, brothers Russel and wife Jackie Glasscock of Visalia, CA, Ronald Glasscock of Callaway, NE, Scott Erickson and wife Susan of Steel City, NE, sisters Glenda Pfingsten and husband Al of Lincoln, NE, and Gloria Precht and husband Jim of Goodland, KS, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Linda’s final thought(a quote by Joel Osteen): “Keep God first place in your life. He’ll take you places you’ve never even dreamed of.” She loved God, family, friends, and life itself. She’d met her goals in life: 1) To be “SAVED”, 2) To marry the “LOVE OF HER LIFE” AND HAVE CHILDREN, 3) To be blessed with a grandchild. Thus she had a very successful and rewarding life. P.T.L.
