On Sunday, October 9, 2022, Linda Kay (Bohlken) Fangman passed away at her oldest son’s home in Parker, Colorado.  She celebrated her 77th birthday the day prior.

Linda was born October 8, 1945, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Esther (Dierks) Bohlken.  She graduated from Monticello High School with the Class of 1964.  She married Lyle Fangman on February 15, 1969.  Lyle and Linda enjoyed 42 years of marriage and lived in Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa, Nevada, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, and Florida.

Linda was employed in many fields and made numerous lifelong friends.  She was known for her hospitality; always quick to invite others over for dinner or an impromptu party.  She had an adventurous spirit, energy levels that defied her age, and a love for life.  Her true calling in life was being a mother of three boys.  She was the epitome of a mother, always putting her boys first and extending selfless love.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Fangman, her parents, Leo and Esther Bohlken, parents-in-law Clarence and Mary Fangman, siblings Dave Bohlken, LouAnn Bohlken, William Bohlken, in-laws: Dave Hjelle, Jim Cain, and James Schoeppner.

Survivors include children: Joe (Renee) Fangman of Parker, CO, Bill (Shanda) Fangman of Belmont, NC, and Brian Fangman of Parker, CO, grandchildren: Hallie, Taylor, Samantha, Jack, Katie, Lyle, and Christian, siblings: Darlene Hjelle, Janice Bohlken, in-laws: Mary Cain and Carol Schoeppner.

Following a head injury suffered while golfing, Linda fought a long battle until finally succumbing to complications of that injury 2 years later.  She never lost her hard-working can-do attitude.  She was a true inspiration to those that knew her.   The family would like to thank all the staff of Craig Hospital and especially her personal nursing attendants that were with her for the past two years, Mike North, Kelsey Ray, Rose Bourbeau, and Candice Vigil-Little.
