Linda Joyce Hampton, 74, of Spencer passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born, October 14, 1945 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Ancil and Laverne (Sowders) Tarter.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed working in her garden, and in her craft room. But mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was “Granny Grunt” to all the grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Gary Lee “Frog” Hampton Sr., one daughter, Debra Jo Hampton-Dennison both of Spencer, grandchildren, Tyler Stewart, Austin Dennison, Meghan Fishel (Daniel), and Whitney Hampton (Dan Smith), great-grandchildren, Ashton Dennison, Adrianna Fishel, Avery Smith, Kristen Fishel, Catherine Fishel, Joe Bug Fishel, and Addilyn Smith, two sisters, Jane Welfel, and Karen Rawley, her BFF, Brenda Hall and her dog, Mia.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Lee Hampton Jr. (2017), one brother, David Tarter, two sisters, Connie Owings, and Judy Rumple.
