Linda Jane Abbott, 71, of Markleville, passed away on July 1, 2014 at her residence. She was born on November 21, 1942 in Anderson, and resided most of her life in Markleville. Linda graduated from Anderson High School in 1960, and from Ball State University in 1964. She retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors, and was also a school teacher before being employed at Guide Lamp.

She loved to do craft work, paint, and make jewelry. She also enjoyed to golf, and spend time in Florida during the winter months. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Earnest Abbott; sons, Bill P. (Dorie) McCallister and Bob (Eileen) McCallister; daughter, Dawn (Matt Smith) McCallister-Riddle; step-son, Ernest A. Abbott; sister, Mary (David) Huddleston; brother, Paul A. (Roberta) Welker; grandchildren, Alisha McCallister, Dalton Riddle, Megan Garmon, Laini (Trace) Toten, Pierce Abbott, Matthew (Anna) Abbott, Jason (India) Abbott and Eric Abbott; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Welker; father, Paul H. Welker; and her step-son, Eddie R. Abbott.
