Linda Dianne Liszak, a mother, a sister and a daughter, passed away Feb. 15, 2021, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin surrounded by family members after a long and courageous fight against Alzheimer’s. Linda was born in Dayton, Ohio, on June 25, 1948, the daughter of Allen and Margaret Williams. Linda was a fighter who overcame obstacles with hard work and persistence. After being told as a child by school counselors that she wasn’t smart enough to become a nurse, Linda went on to graduate from nursing school and become a Registered Nurse. That launched a career of more than 40 years in nursing in hospitals and other medical facilities in Dayton, the Atlanta area and Denver. She loved animals and always had dogs and cats as pets. She traveled extensively, including trips to Russia where she volunteered at an orphanage, and loved listening to Elvis Presley. Linda’s greatest love was the Lord Jesus Christ and the family takes comfort that she is now in his arms. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Newnan and lived in Newnan for several years. Linda is survived by her two children, Kristin (David) Berry of Grantville, and Kevin (Katie) Liszak of Dahlonega; her brother, Mark Williams of Baltimore, Ohio; nephews; and numerous friends.
