Linda Cluett Ellington, 56, of Zebulon passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at her home.

Linda was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida and grew up in North Palm Beach, Florida. While growing up with her three siblings, she loved to swim, play softball, ride a unicycle and hanging with friends.  She attended Western Carolina University, following her passion to become a nurse.  She met her husband David while attending college and became a longtime Zebulon resident and loved member within the community.  After college, she went to work at Duke University Hospital and then Wake Medical Center as a pediatric intensive care nurse. In addition, Linda was an active member of the Zebulon Baptist Church, most recently teaching adult Sunday School.

To each of us, Linda is wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt or friend. Linda poured her heart, soul and love into making sure that David, Kyle and Jacob have always known they are loved and supported at every step.  She guided her “boys” to grow and become amazing men. Recently Linda asked us to share our joy with her. Linda is that joy for so many. Her smile is radiant, her faith steadfast and her commitment to love unwavering. To know Linda is to know the best.  When she took you into her heart, you knew you are loved. If you are lucky enough to call her friend, your heart warms at the sound of her voice and your soul is refreshed by her smile.

Memories are a blessing, reminding us that love lives on.  May your memories of your times with Linda move you to spread the love and light she shared with us all. We will never understand the reasons for having to endure such heart ache, but we do understand a God who is faithful in His love and promises.  It is in times like these that is the only understanding we need.

Linda is preceded in death by her brother, Steven Cluett and mother and father-in-law, Fred and Brenda Ellington.
