Linda Bunkofske, age 76, of Burt, went to be with our Lord and Savior in Heaven on Monday January 6, 2020. Her final days were spent at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City surrounded by family and friends. Linda Lou Bunkofske (Ackerman), daughter of Hiram and Muriel (Long) Ackerman, was born on October 7, 1943 in Burt, Iowa. She graduated from Burt High School in 1962. Linda worked in the cafeteria at St. Ann’s Hospital in Algona from 1963-64. On July 11, 1965 Linda was united in marriage with David Bunkofske at the Full Gospel Church in Burt. After raising her children, Linda worked as a Librarian at the Burt Public Library for over 20 years. Linda treasured her children and enjoyed moments with them, including her Grandchildren and Great-Grandson. She had a loving and joyful heart. Linda was a woman of faith and appreciated her church family. She was a member of Algona Faith Church and Burt Bible Study group. Linda also enjoyed reading, baking, and walking with friends. Left to cherish Linda’s memory is her husband of 54 years, David; children, Laura (Jason) Thompson of Northwood and Paul (Tammy) Bunkofske of Urbandale; a grandson, Adam Dralla; a great grandson, Nate Dralla; 2 sisters, Delores Balzer of Marshalltown and Bobbie (Don) Gifford of Garner; and a brother, Gary Dean Ackerman of Salina, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Jacob Dralla.
