Linda Ann Patterson, March 25, 1949 – March 25, 2022.

Linda A. Patterson was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She left this world unexpectedly to be with the Lord and reunite with her husband on March 25, 2022, her birthday.

Born to Howard and Eula Vay Jones on March 25, 1949, she married the love of her life, Thomas R. Patterson Sr. on June 20, 1969. They had two children together; Thomas and Vayona.

Linda was a devoted wife, supporting her husband throughout his 23 years in the U. S. Air Force and enjoyed the travel,  adventures, and challenges that came with it.

She loved her children dearly and supported them in their endeavors and absolutely adored all of her grandchildren. Whether bowling, fishing, water-sliding, tubing the down river, playing on jungle gyms, bear crawl racing, and even sliding into a pool of jello from a pudding slicked slip and slide, she was always up for fun experiences with them.

A kid at heart, she always had a positive attitude and an infectious smile and was always eager for conversation;  those who met her would not forget her.   She was over-the-top and never ceased to amaze.

In 2002 at the age of 53, she astounded us all when she graduated the Texas Department of Criminal Justice training academy and became a correctional officer with the Gatesville prison, serving on death row until retiring after 10 years of faithful service.

She was a humble servant of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, and had an unwaivering faith in him.  A favorite scripture that she spoke often was, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it” which always brought a sense of calmness to any situation.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas on February 28,1998, her Father and Mother, Howard and Eula Vay Jones and In-laws Lynn and Edna Patterson.

She is survived by her son Thomas Jr. and wife RRena of Austin, TX; daughter Vayona and husband Daniel Tull of Belton, TX; grandchildren Kyler Patterson, Hunter Patterson, DJ Tull, Gavin Tull, and AnnRena Tull; brother Howard and wife Karen Jones of Moore, Ok; and nephews Trey and Matthew Jones.
