Lillie J. Leone (Nee: Johnston) of Burlington passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice at Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly the age of 88. Lillie was a longtime Burlington resident who graduated from Wilbur Watts High School in 1946. She worked for and retired from Bell Telephone after 26 years. A devout Catholic, Lillie was very active in the church community at St. Paul’s.

She belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America as Court Prudentia, Altar Rosary Society, Young at Heart, St. Paul’s Bereavement Committee, Eucharist Minister, President of St. Paul’s PTA, Burlington Women’s Club and a member of the Aquacise Group at the YMCA. Lillie was the heart of her home and cherished spending time with family. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Everyone who came to her home was welcomed as family, she was beautiful, caring and giving to all who knew her. Lillie touched many lives.

She will also always be remembered by many as Grandma Lil, Aunt Lil, Mrs. Leone, friend, neighbor especially the Tomasetti Family who was always a treasure to have in her life. Wife of the late Samuel, who she has now been reunited with after 25 years, she is survived by their children: Donna Serpiello, Samuel, Jr., John, Carmela (Chuckie) Pierce, Charlene (Kyle) Hinkel; grandchildren: Heather (David) Buckelew, Christine (Augustine) Circello, Marianna Serpiello; great-grandchildren: Chase, Colin, Abigail Circello, Grace and Adam Buckelew and many nieces, nephews and friends. We would like to thank Samaritan Hospice for the care and kindness they shown to our mother in the past months. Especially Latwanna, her nurse, Shevon her aide who Lillie always looked forward to seeing everyday. And to all the nurses and aides at the hospice unit at Virtua, Mt. Holly.
