Lillie Elvena Thomas (nee Wendler), 94 yrs young, passed away on December 31, 2012, with her family present. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD to Paul and Agnes Wendler from Olesnitz, Germany. They had 19 children of which Mom was second eldest daughter. Journaling led to a long career of writing poems and stories taken from her life; some of which were published. She also won a trip on Southwest Airlines for a Thanksgiving story she wrote. Mom came here to live after a home invasion and made a new life here in Boerne. She was the first sales person to volunteer at the Rainbow Thrift Shop and continued to volunteer at Season”s till health caused her to resign in January, 2011. A member of St. John Lutheran Church. She leaves two daughters, Eleanor Perez and Frieda Dalton; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grans; seven great great grans with two more on the way; three sisters; one brother; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thomas.
