Lily Milada Kovar was born August 1, 1913 in Quinlan, Texas and grew up in Ennis. She came to Dallas in the spring of 1931 to work and help her family survive the depression. She changed her name to Lillian Mildred at that time. She worked for a woman who recognized her potential and offered her the opportunity to attend business school. She attended Rutherford School of Business. She married Paul Quinn in 1936 and moved to the White Rock area of Dallas in 1938.
A daughter, Nita Quinn Purcell and her son-in-law John survive her. Other survivors include Grandson Paul M. Purcell, his wife Joan and great Grandsons Alex, Nick, and Michael Purcell, and Granddaughter Melanie Purcell Fulton and great Grandsons Justin Lawler and Hunter Fulton. A brother Edwin Kovar of Dallas, and two sisters, Emily Newman of San Antonio and Mary Swain of El Paso, as well as many nieces and nephews also survive her.
