Once in a lifetime, if you are lucky, you meet someone like our Mom Lillian
Lord Fahey. We jokingly called her “Lilly Belle.” She was much like the saints
you read about: kind, forgiving and never an unkind word about anything or
anyone. We all adored her. If she seems too good to be true – she was.
We will never be the same without her but we rejoice at her being in heaven.
We know Jesus was there to meet her with angels singing. Her husband and all
her family with loving open arms. She is at peace and filled with joy now.
Now that she is watching us from Heaven we just want to “walk in her
footsteps.” Looking down with her beautiful blue eyes we want her to smile and
be proud of us.
We were the Luckiest Kids in the world to have Lillian Lord Fahey as our
Mother. She was the pure example of love, hope, goodness and charity. Mom’s
essence was smiles, love, hugs and forgiveness. Not just for her Husband, 7
children, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild
but for everyone she met. She was one of God’s angels here on earth, never
looking the other way when someone was in need.
loved doing the Readings, leading the Rosary at daily masses and lighting up the
room with her beautiful smile.
She came from a large loving family. Her parents were Joe and Mary Lord and
she was on the eight children. We loved them all dearly. When Lillian’s Mother
died a glowing white cross appeared on her driveway. That is our Mom. We will
never be the same now – we will be better. We have big shoes to fill and hope
to make even a little difference in the world. More helping, being more
generous and of course the greatest gift of all “more love.”
