Lillian “Lennie” Marshall, 77, of Centralia passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at her home with her family surrounding her. She was born on April 14, 1943, to Corliss Young and James Newborn in Centralia, IL.
She married the love of her life, Albert Marshall on September 4, 1976, and he survives in Centralia. Lennie was a loving mother to Cynthia Garrett, husband Ricky, Marla Webster, husband Hamp, Crystal “O’Neal” Leslie, and Andre Marshall, wife Amanda of Centralia, and Carla Upchurch, husband Albert of Senatobia, Mississippi; 11 grandchildren- Stalata O’Neal, Cashmere O’Neal, Imari O’Neal, Monterra Garrett, D’Andre Downey, Malaya Downey, Jamel O’Neal, Camia O’Neal, Mariah Abdullah, Karrington Marshall, Kree Marshall; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind a special cousin, Wilma Bass of Joliet, IL. Lennie went to Centralia Township High School and was a part of the class of ‘61.
She worked and retired from Hollywood Candy Factory in Centralia. She was a proud Christian and a member of Second Baptist Church. Lennie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She never missed a game, play, event, or holiday. Lennie was a sharp dresser with shopping and decorating being her greatest hobbies. Lennie is dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
