Lillian J. Panish, 81 years old, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 5, 2011 at Norwalk Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 62 years of Jack Panish who passed away on March 18, 2011. Lillian was born on June 14, 1929 in New York, NY, daughter of the late Louis and Josephine Medricka Smath. She grew up in Stamford and was a graduate of Stamford High School in 1947. Lillian and Jack were married in September of 1948 and was a Norwalk resident for 54 years. She worked as a sales associate in the Hardware/Gift Dept. in the old Factory Store in Norwalk and then at Majestic Cleaners in Norwalk until she retired in 1990. After retirement they spent time taking trips to Paradise Island, Cape Cod and Mohegan Sun.
Lillian is now with her beloved husband Jack and is survived by her daughter Kathy Avery and her husband Cliff of Norwalk, grandson David Stabell, Jr. of Norwalk, SSgt. Amanda Stabell USAF of Warner Robins, GA and her sister Georgette Keeler and her husband Ronald of Cape Cod. She is predeceased by her daughter Cynthia. She was a wonderful wife, mother, nanny and sister and will be missed by all.
