Lillian Chamberlain Hoppes, 97, Anderson, died September 19, 2005 at Americare Living Facility-Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born May 21, 1908 in South Bend, Indiana. She and her husband moved to Florida from Anderson after retiring in 1965 and she moved back to Anderson five years ago. She retired in 1965 as a shipping clerk from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 38 years of service. She was of the Methodist Faith and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her two stepsons: Bobby R. & wife Frances Hoppes of Anderson. Glen & wife Mary Hoppes of Gas City. Step daughters: Donna & husband Richard Maynard of Summitville. Carolyn & husband Jay Hensley of Alexandria. Dorothy Corn of Gas City. Daughter-in-law: Jeanette Hoppes of Summitville. 18 step grandchildren and several step great great grandchildren. Several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin E. Hoppes in 1972. Step son: Jackson Hoppes. Brother: John Orville Chamberlain. Two Sisters: Rilda Etchison and Dorothy Etchison.
