Lillian F. (Gregorich) Caresio, 96, of Peru, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru with her children at her side.
Mrs. Caresio was born April 30, 1919 to Louis and Rosalia (Lushina) Gregorich at the family home in Oglesby where she lived her entire life up until three years ago. She married Aldo John Caresio in 1937 in Indiana.
Mrs. Caresio was a homemaker and also worked at Gregorich Royal Blue Stores in Oglesby and LaSalle, owned by her father and brothers and she retired from Lous Supermarket in Oglesby. She was a great cook and baker, well known for her cookies and potica. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include three children, Carole (Don) Haas of Peru; Jolene (Christopher Peterson) Caresio of Albany, NY and John (Debra) Caresio of Peru; three grandchildren, Jason (Michelle Zuniga) Caresio and Courtney (Kevin) Klobucher both of Peru and Dr. Elan (Dr. Rachel Roditi) Witkowski of Boston, MA; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Quinn Klobucher; many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend, Terry Arboit of Spring Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aldo on March 1, 1973; one sister, Frances in infancy and five brothers, Louis, Frank, Tony, Joe and Bill Gregorich.
