Abbate of Cheshire; also survived by grandson Adam V.S. Abbate & his wife Rebecca, their children Henry, Juliette & Christopher of Wallingford, granddaughter Elizabeth Galley & her husband Andrew, their children Gavin & Connor of Port Deposit, MD, sisters Marguerite”Poochie” Schaeffer & her husband Robert of Sherman Oaks, CA and Eleanor “Sunni” Cretella & her husband Richard of Branford , brother-in-law Robert Conte of North Haven and many beloved nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Camille “June” Angeloni, Josephine Scarpo & Frances Conte. Born March 29, 1924 daughter of the late Frank J. and Rose Melillo Ferreno. She had worked as a clerk at NYNH & Hartford Railroad for 24 years before retiring in 1978 and was a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks Local 227.
Lil was a dedicated volunteer at St. Rahpael’s Hospital, a founding member of Twilight Tappers and belonged to the Line Dance Teachers Association.
