Lillian D. Horvath, 78, of Bethlehem, died Monday, January 9, 2012, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Julia (Gosztonyi) Horvath. Lillian was a 1951 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, and was the permanent class reunion chairman. She attended Moravian College, Columbia University and was an alumnus of St. Mary of the Woods in Indiana. Lillian was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she served as a Lecture and Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Secular Franciscans of St. Francis Friary in Easton, the First Windish Sick and Beneficial Society and President and Treasurer of Bethlehem Murska Sobota Sister Cities Assoc. Dr. H.E. Samuel Zbogar, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Slovenia was impressed with her contributions to Slovenia. Survivors: sister-in-law Dorothy Horvath of Ill.; 35 godchildren; 22 nieces and nephews; 31 great nieces and nephews and 24 great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Stephen, Charles, William, Mary,Caroline, Irene, Ann, Helen and Ann Marie.
