SALEM – Lillian Armeni Woods, 92, died Friday, March 11, 2022 at Blossom Nursing & Rehab. Lillian was born on December 3, 1929 in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of immigrant parents, Camillo and Anina Centofanti. Lillian was first generation of Italian decent.
She was raised on a farm in Ellsworth and met her future husband, James when she sold him a cantaloupe off the side of the road. They then moved to Salem, met again, got married and had two children.
She went to Woodrow Wilson High School. Prior to becoming a homemaker, Lillian was a beautician. Lillian loved to bake homemade pizza and bread and the family was always happy when she did.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Lillian enjoyed volunteering at the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, hospital, and fundraisers. She also was an election poll worker for over 40 years. Lillian also sold pizza and bread at Italian Club, where she was also a member.
She is survived by children, Camille (Kyle) Franzen and James (Lorrie) Armeni of Salem; one brother, Joe (Marsha) Centofanti of Salem; four grandchildren, Michael, Vincent, Jim Jr., and Ross; three great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Vincent, and Mikey.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Armeni and Richard Woods; and siblings, James and Mary Centofanti.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Stark Memorial.
