Lillian Carol Butler, 73, of Elkhart, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 28, 2013, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.
She was born on Jan. 11, 1940, in Oneida, Tenn., to the late Charlie and Azel (Lovet) Davis.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, Terry, Charles, Jack and infant Jo Edward Davis preceded Lillian in death.
She married Bobby Gene Butler on Nov. 16, 1956, in Whitley City, Ky. They would have celebrated 57 years together next month.
Bobby survives, as well as their children, Kathy (Bill) Ferrick of Elkhart, Bobby G. Jr. (Patty) Butler of Goshen, Jeff (Tammy) Butler of Winchester, Ky., and Molly Spanovich of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are her sisters, Patricia Foutz and Martha (Keith) Kauffman, both of Sidney, Ohio, and brothers Bill, Arlis, Mike, Jim, David and John Davis.
Lillian was a loving wife, mother and the best babysitting “Granny” ever. When it came to cooking no one could beat her fried chicken or homemade biscuits, and her peanut butter fudge was a hit around the holidays. Lillian and Bobby both came from loving and close families, and spending time with them was most special to her. Lillian retired from Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
