Lillian Agnes Keerbs, the daughter of Thomas C. and Anna (Reinders) Troug was born July 18, 1904 in Mallard, Iowa, Ellington Township. She was raised, educated and lived her entire life near Mallard,graduating from the Mallard High School. On June 2, 1925 she was united in marriage to Willard Kerbs. The couple lived in the Mallard area during their married lives. Survivors include her children: Velma Keerbs of Mallard, Iowa, Vivian Keerbs of Mallard, Iowa and Vernard(Ann) Keerbs of Spirit Lake,Iowa, and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Willard May 30, 1965 and an infant son Thomas Vernon. Lillian was a life time member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Mallard, the Ladies Aid and circle of the church. She transcribed Sunday School lessons into braille for the blind and spent many years working for Lutheran World Relief making quilts. Mrs. Keerbs died Sunday March 22, 2009 at Parc Hall in Emmetsburg having reached the age of 104 years.
