Mrs. Lila “Jean” Lowery 86, of Huntsville passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016
Lila “Jean” experienced a rough early life. She was born during the great depression to a very poor family. During her early life she experienced days of food shortages and her parents divorcing, and she had a dedication to her younger siblings where she quit school to take care of them. Through all of the hardships in her early life, Lila “Jean” had a dedication of great love and faith. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and christian.
She loved traveling, sewing, cooking, fishing, camping, and trying her luck in Tunica and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was greatly loved by her family and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas Lowery; her son, Taylor Gerald Lowery; her mother, Leona Rhodes; her father, James Rodgers; and her siblings, Opal Glover, and Emmett Rhodes.
Survivors include her sons, Malcolm (Sharon) Lowery, Randy Lowery, Greg (Leisa) Lowery, her daughter, Becky (Mark) Cowherd; nine grandchildren, Staci, Deanne, Heather, Jessica, Michael, Casey, Amy, Amber, Mark; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Jo (Woodrow) Glover, Rachel (Walter) Lowery; two brothers, Jimmy (Era) Rodgers, Bobby (Mary) Rodgers; and many nieces and nephews.
